Specimen

Generally used to denote a single piece but more specifically applying to a coin in a special finish, less than proof in quality but superior to the general circulating version. It also denotes paper notes intended for circulation between banks or for press publicity and distinguished from the generally issued version by zero serial numbers punch holes or a security endorsement.
